We learn so that we may succeed, and that goes for anything in life, including the arts. It’s a falsity that the moment we earn money or wish to earn money for our creations that it ceases to become art.

About This Quote

It’s a falsity that the moment we earn money or wish to earn money for our creations that it ceases to become art. In the world of art, there are no limits. That is what makes art so special and so true to life. For example, when I was in college, I took a class called “Public Speaking.” When we were prepared to perform our presentations, we were told that we could include anything we wanted in our presentation and could even use materials from the Internet.

We were then left to create presentations for ourselves and other students. I chose to create a presentation about how people use their time and what they should do to be more productive. I decided that my presentation would be like a clock where you could see how much time you spend on different activities such as watching TV, reading magazines, surfing Facebook and doing other things online.

The entire presentation was me speaking about how this clock can help people improve their lives and become more productive. Of course, I did not expect everyone in the class to understand what I was trying to say and I knew that some people would think that my presentation was stupid or unrealistic. As it turned out, however, many people did not realize what I was trying to convey until they actually watched my video and realized that using this clock can help them be more productive and keep track of their time better than they had been previously.

This idea has been used by many people such as Steve Jobs who used an alarm clock with a timer in his iPad so there would be no more excuse for him wasting time on Facebook while he could have been working on something important instead.
